  • 1 cup white sugar, divided
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine ½ cup white sugar and cornstarch in a bowl; stir in strawberries, 1 cup at a time. Set aside.
  3. Combine flour, remaining ½ cup white sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl; stir in melted butter and egg with a fork until crumbly.
  4. Press ½ crumble mixture into the prepared baking dish; cover with strawberry mixture. Top with remaining ½ crumble mixture.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 45 minutes. Cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes. Refrigerate before slicing into 16 bars.
