  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, at room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the filling: Place apple slices into the prepared baking dish. Add brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon; toss to coat. Scatter butter pieces over top.
  3. Make the topping: Mix flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and together salt in a large bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or your fingers until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until bubbly and golden brown, about 45 minutes.
