  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • ⅓ cup butter, chilled
  • ½ cup half-and-half cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup chopped pear

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Whisk flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt together in a large bowl. Cut in butter with 2 knives or pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Whisk half-and-half and egg together in a separate bowl; stir into flour mixture until dough is moistened. Stir in pear. Drop large spoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Cool slightly on cooling rack before serving.
