Local Kine Wontons
Ingredients
- 1 quart oil for frying, or as needed
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 (12 ounce) package imitation crabmeat, flaked
- 1 (5 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
- 5 green onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 (14 ounce) packages wonton wrappers

Instructions
- Heat oil in a large, heavy saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Mix cream cheese, crabmeat, water chestnuts, green onions, and soy sauce together in a medium bowl.
- Place about 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold into wrappers into triangles and seal the edges with moistened fingers.
- Working in small batches, fry wontons in the hot oil until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
