Instructions
- In a large bowl, using a wooden spoon mix the butter and both sugars until combined and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla and mix just until combined.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into butter mixture, and mix until combined. Stir in the sesame seeds until fully distributed.,Simply Recipes / Alison Bickel,Simply Recipes / Alison Bickel
- Divide the dough into two equal portions and roll each into a log, 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter and about 8 inches long. Wrap each log with plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, at least 4 hours or overnight (8 to 10 hours total).,Simply Recipes / Alison Bickel
- Adjust two oven racks onto the middle and top of the oven, and set it to 325°F. Line two large sheet pans with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
- Unwrap and using a chef’s knife, cut the chilled dough into 1/4-inch slices. Place them on the prepared sheet pans about 1/2 inch apart (the cookies will not spread much).,Simply Recipes / Alison Bickel
- Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, until they are lightly golden, rotating and turning the sheet pans halfway through. Cool them for 10 minutes on the sheet pan, and transfer them to a wire rack to finish cooling.,Simply Recipes / Alison Bickel
